- Confront the Super Mutants: In the depths of Necropolis, the player confronts the super mutants led by the Master, a mutated human seeking to transform humanity through forced mutation. The Vault Dweller must navigate the treacherous vault, confront the Master, and retrieve the water chip.
- Destroy the Mutant Army or Convince the Master to Self-Destruct: Upon confronting the Master, the player is presented with a choice: destroy the mutant army by sabotaging the FEV vats or convince the Master to self-destruct his plan, ending the threat of forced mutation.
- Return to Vault 13: With the water chip in hand, the Vault Dweller returns to Vault 13 to save their home from dehydration.
