Fallout 76 Fallout 76

Bethesda Game Studios’ Fallout 76 is an ambitious, online action-roleplaying video game. As the prequel to other entries in the Fallout series, it uniquely allows up to four players to explore a post-apocalyptic open world littered with the remnants of nuclear war. Utilizing Bethesda’s modified Creation Engine, it provides a much more intricate environment and experience than prior titles boasting complex networking for a multiplayer platform.

Fallout 76 is a narrative prequel to past Fallout installments and takes place in an alternate timeline, twenty-five years after a nuclear war that left the Earth in ruins. The player character ventures out of Vaults 76, a fallout shelter designed to house the United States’ most distinguished citizens, as part of its mission to repopulate the Wasteland on “Reclamation Day”. After twenty-five years since the Great War, Vault 76 opens its gates and prepares players for their journey towards rebuilding civilization outside.

Shortly after arriving from the Vault, the player character is contacted by the Vault Overseer. The overseer reveals that they were entrusted to secure an arsenal of nuclear weapons located in three functioning missile silos – Site Alpha, Site Bravo and Site Charlie. To recover these weapons, the player character is asked to contact with the Responders; a crucial aid group created during wartime. Sadly, it’s uncovered that they had to evacuate due to Scorched attacks. Further investigations reveal a deeper story – these attackers are humans infected with the Scorched Plague, managed under an Enclave bioweapon kept in an old mining facility which caused them to grow exponentially and form a symbiotic relationship with each other. Ultimately, this led a single Scorchbeast to become Queen; making her larger and more dangerous while using a hivemind to control legions of human and animals throughout Appalachia.
