Set in the aftermath of a great war, Fallout: New Vegas allows players to explore the wastelands of an alternate timeline consisting of parts of Arizona, California and Nevada. The year is 2281, four years after Fallout 3 and 204 years after the bombs fell. Obsidian Entertainment developed this spin-off title with Bethesda Softworks as its publisher in 2010 for PlayStation 3, Windows and Xbox 360. With Atomic Age technology shaping a different history than ours, the story follows what happened in 2077 when tensions between the U.S. and China escalated into a fight over natural resources – leading to an apocalyptic nuclear event referred to as “The Great War”.
